# Dashboards overview

> Build interactive dashboards by arranging charts on a grid.

A **dashboard** is a canvas where you arrange [charts](/charts/overview) to tell a story with your data. Each chart pulls from a [dataset](/datasets/overview) and can be independently configured.

## What dashboards can do

* **Drag-and-drop grid layout**: position and resize charts on a 12-column grid.
* **Multiple chart types**: mix tables, graphs, and statistics cards on the same dashboard.
* **Cross-dataset filters**: apply [dashboard-level filters](/boards/filters) that span multiple datasets.
* **Sharing**: favorite dashboards, toggle visibility, and share links with teammates.
* **AI creation**: ask the AI to build entire dashboards with charts and filters.
